Memoir ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When you use Memoir, we collect:

Account information — your name, email address, and profile picture, obtained via Google Sign-In.
User content — notes, tasks, and calendar events you create within the app.
Usage data — a count of daily AI requests (for rate-limiting purposes only).
Feedback — messages you submit via the "Send Feedback" form.

We do not collect IP addresses, device fingerprints, or tracking cookies.

2. How We Use Your Data

To provide and operate the Memoir service.
To process your notes and queries using OpenAI's API (your content is sent to OpenAI to generate AI responses). OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this processing.
To authenticate your identity via Google Sign-In. Google's privacy policy applies to this.
To respond to feedback you submit.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (a Vercel partner). The database is located in the United States. All data is associated with your user account and is not accessible to other users.

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the profile menu inside the app, which permanently deletes all your notes, tasks, events, and account information.

5. Your Rights

Access — all your data is visible within the app.
Deletion — delete your account and all associated data instantly via Profile → Delete Account.
Portability — contact us to request an export of your data.

6. Children's Privacy

Memoir is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
